Ruppel Uniform Polices
All students are required to wear the Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies School uniform.
Boys & GirlsShirts: Burgundy polo type, short sleeved shirts with the Ruppel (fleur de lis) logo. Shirts must be tucked inside the pants. Students my only wear one collared shirt at a time. Undershirts must be solid black, white, or the Ruppel PE shirt and may be short or long-sleeved. No writing is allowed on undershirts.
Pants: Plain, khaki pants only. No skinny or cargo pants or khaki jeans. No shorts. Pants must fit properly and not be rolled up. Pants may not be too tight, baggy, sagging, oversized, or below the waist. They should not be torn, ripped, or have holes.
Shoes: Tennis shoes must be mostly white or mostly black. No other colors are allowed on the shoes other than black and white (this includes stripes, insignias, and laces). Soles, laces, sides, and tops of shoes must be white or black. No boots, slip-ons, slippers, sandals, clogs, heels, or patterned shoes allowed.
Socks: Must be plain white or black. Socks must be visible above the shoe line.
Belts: Must be black, khaki, or brown. No large belt buckles, writing, names, initials, glitter, sequins, ribbons, or any embellishment allowed..
Jewelry: Nothing may be worn in pierced body parts other than the ears. Earrings are not allowed for boys. Girls may wear earrings no larger than a quarter. Hoop earrings are not allowed. Only one necklace, bracelet, ring, and pair of earrings at a time. Jewelry may only be silver, gold, black, white, beige, or burgundy. No dog tags, large medallions, or jewelry that suggests drugs, violence, etc. allowed. Expensive jewelry should not be worn.
ID’s: All students are required to purchase and wear an ID. The cost is $5.00. Temporary ID’s cost $1.00 and will be issued to students who forget their permanent ID. Students are responsible for maintaining the condition of their ID. No writing, stickers, etc. are allowed on the ID. ID’s are mandatory during all school-related events.
Other: Hats, visors, bandannas, and sunglasses may not be worn.
Girls OnlySkirts: Plaid skirts must be worn. Skirts must be appropriate for the size of the student and for school. Skirts may be no shorter than two inches above the back of the knee joint. No skorts allowed. Please note, starting in 2013-14, only the plaid skirt is acceptable.
Hair accessories: Ruppel plaid, khaki, burgundy, black, or white are the only approved colors for hair accessories.
Cold Weather AttireJackets and sweatshirts: Ruppel Academy jackets and sweatshirts with logo are recommended. Otherwise, solid white, grey, black, or burgundy sweaters and jackets may be worn. Jackets must reach the waist and be button-down or zip-down. Only Ruppel sweatshirts are allowed. No hooded jackets allowed unless purchased through the school.
Tights (girls only): Solid black, khaki, or white only. Solid leggings to the ankle may also be worn.
Note: Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies and the Jefferson Parish Public School System and its employees will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items that were confiscated from students due to the violation of the school/parish/state rules.
